We all love Eurosonic! That’s why we can barely contain our excitement that Eurosonic 2020, under the banner of “A Taste of Swiss Music”, will be focusing on our very own wonderful music scene.
“Switzerland stands out for its cultural diversity with a very eclectic music scene which has been making waves over the past couple of years,” said ESNS booker Robert Meijerink when he announced the invitation: “Swiss acts can rely on a professional infrastructure when it comes to their live music venues and festivals. Besides this, key partners of ESNS such as Yourope and the European Broadcasting Union are based in Switzerland. A significant number of artists have been crossing European borders already. We can’t wait to get started with Swiss Music Export and their partners to work on ESNS 2020.” To this we at Swiss Music Export say: Yeessss!
Already, many of the Swiss acts travelling to Groningen have been announced. It is a varied bunch, ranging from the gorgeously autumnal folk rock of Black Sea Dahu to the edgy synth punk pop of Camilla Sparksss (presented by Rete 3), from the heavily rocking Coilguns to the dramatically intimate musings of Emilie Zoé, and from Muthoni Drummer Queen’s ebullient afro-electronica (presented by Couleur 3) to the deep soul of Marius Bear (presented by Radio SRF3). Also on our seriously exciting list of acts are L’Eclair, Pascal Gamboni (presented by RTR), Monumental Men, Asbest, Veronica Fusaro, Bitter Moon, Ikan Hyu, Jessiquoi, KT Gorique, Sirens of Lesbos, Amami, and The Gardener & The Tree! New on the bill are Cella, La Colère, Ramin & Reda and Sophie Hunger & Julian Sartorius!
Needless to say that we are massively looking forward to meeting you all at these performances as well as a variety of special events we are in the middle of planning. One thing is for certain: Switzerland will be omnipresent at Eurosonic 2020 in Groningen!
For FONDATION SUISA, co-supporter of the SME, it is a great pleasure and honour to be a partner in this adventure and congratulates those responsible at SwissMusicExport on this success.
